Cleanliness Score: (This score is separate from other scores that come later) 5.5/10.
I would gladly give more points, but I witnessed a young boy, relative of the owner, going into the food preparation area.
General Overview:
Moonlight Cafe is a cafe opposite Anglia Square in Norwich city centre, the food served is pretty much what you'd expect from a cafe. Burgers and Chips alongside sandwiches.
The Service:
The service at Moonlight Cafe is actually very good, my meal would come with Salad, but I asked to replace this with another side order, this was done with no problem. I did not meat a server that spoke English as first language whilst I was at the cafe, but all spoke English to at least a communicative level, so that is certainly not a problem.
The Product:
The food from Moonlight Cafe is delicious and fresh, when the plate arrived at my table, I put the salt and vinegar on my chips, prepared my sources and tucked in, only to bite into a chip that was so hot I knew it had not long been out of the fryer.
The food tasted very mederterian, which reminds me of childhood holidays to the Greek isles, and on my visit we even had Greek weather, so was a very nice experience.
The Value:
The food here is frightfully cheap, my meal cost me a whisker under £4 for mains only and no accompanying drink, this is unbelievable. The food doesn't particially taste cheap, it doesn't taste as you would expect from a Michelin staff chef, but hey, for £4 its one the best meals you'll get for the price.
The Ambiance:
This is the point where I feel my forehead and my palm meeting with a dull thud. There where a few children around while I was there, and maybe I am just old fashioned, but I like to eat my food in peace, there defiantly isn't the more sophisticated atmosphere I have experienced in some other cafes.
Facilities and Other comments:
The facilities do, to be frank, leave a lot to be desired, there is no separate toilet for staff, or gender separation to be honest, there is a single toilet, where there is no wheelchair access or baby-change facilities.
Also the hand drying towels, well, i'll be blunt, I used kitchen role, was on top of a towel stall I assume to be empty.
